Test your carbon monoxide detector and change the batteries. Make sure your family knows the signs of C.O. poisoning.

Check your outdoor appliance exhausts to make sure they’re clear. Bird nests and stink bugs have been cited as the cause for some furnace vent problems.

Doing yardwork or gardening? Never tie your dog to a gas meter, or use it to hang a garden hose or other tools.

Keep an eye out for scams. Whether it’s door-to-door, over the phone, or online, criminals may try to pose as a utility company. Get tips about avoiding scams here.

With current events revolving around the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s understandable that you want to click on articles, emails and other information that may be sent to you.
