History of Peoples
Peoples has been providing natural gas service in western Pennsylvania for more than 130 years. In the last five years, Peoples purchased the T.W. Phillips Gas & Oil Company and Equitable Gas. These purchases also provided Peoples with service territories in West Virginia and Kentucky. In 2017, Peoples announced an agreement to purchase Delta Natural Gas, headquartered in Winchester, Kentucky.
Today, Peoples is the largest natural gas distribution company in Pennsylvania and serves approximately 700,000 customers in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Kentucky. Peoples is also proud to employ more than 1100 people who live and work in the same communities we serve.
