Emergency Hotline: 1.800.400.4271

24 hours a day / 7 days a week

What is an Emergency?

Gas leaks, an odor of gas, damaged lines, and carbon monoxide symptoms are all considered emergencies. If you have an emergency, call our emergency hotline at 1-800-400-4271 . Our personnel are ready to assist you 24/7. When in doubt, call us immediately.

If you smell gas, do not attempt to locate the leak. Instead, leave the house or building right away. Do not turn on or off any electrical switches, appliances, or lights, as an electrical charge could create a spark. When you are in a safe place, call the Peoples emergency hotline.

It's officially baseball season, those May flowers are already budding, and we’re staring longingly at that pair of shorts that have been buried in a drawer all winter. Spring is nearly in full bloom, and you know what else is right around the corner? One of our favorite Saturday past-times…Kayak Pittsburgh!

Brought to you by our partner, Venture Outdoors, Kayak Pittsburgh will re-open their North Shore and North Park locations on Saturday, May 6th, and their Aspinwall Riverfront Park location on Saturday, May 27th. Visit their website to get all the details. (And go ahead and dust off the sunglasses and flip-flops right now, while you’re at it. We won’t tell anybody.)

Or maybe you’re looking to get away from the city and the suburbs for a bit of open sky? Check out some of the other upcoming events from Venture Outdoors for the back-woods enthusiast. They’ll have you—quite literally—stopping to smell the roses.

Backpacking Intro

Saturday, June 10 to Sunday, June 11

Dust off your backpacking gear as we experience the beauty of Raccoon Creek State Park. We will review the basics and lead us on a backpacking loop hike and tent camping overnight. We'll cover 4-5 miles the first day over moderate terrain with stops at historic landmarks within the park. Later we'll build a campfire, eat dinner, relax, and then let the story-telling begin. On the second day, we will backpack 6-7 miles to the park office, completing the loop. This is a great first-time backpacking trip. Cost covers guides and campsite fee. Bring your own backpacking gear and food. Minimum age is 16.
