Become a Supplier


To become an approved Natural Gas Supplier (NGS) operating in a Peoples’ service territory, you must meet the following requirements below.

1. You must first hold a valid PA PUC Supplier license for the service territory in which you wish to operate.

2. Complete and submit a Pooling Application below to PeoplesNGS@peoples-gas.com 

3. Submit a Credit Application to PeoplesNGS@peoples-gas.com 

4. Submit a Certificate of Financial Fitness to PeoplesNGS@peoples-gas.com 

5. Submit your company’s most recent audited financial statements.

6. P1 Pool Operator must be approved on the following upstream pipelines:

  • Equitrans
  • Dominion Transmission

7. Once Peoples receives the above information, we will inform the NGS of the amount and type of credit enhancement that would be necessary before the Pool is established.

8. After credit enhancement is posted, Peoples will draft a Pooling Agreement for execution between both parties.

9. After execution of the Pooling Agreements, NGSs will be required to complete Supplier Certification Testing.

10. Suppliers will need to submit commodity rates if applicable.

11. Once testing is complete and rates are set up, the NGS may start to enroll customers into its Pool.

    Depending on where you live, you may be able to save money by switching your natural gas supplier. In Pennsylvania, you can choose the company that provides your natural gas—also known as your natural gas supplier. This means that you have the power to switch to a competing supplier who can offer the lowest price or provide a specific service you want.
