LIHEAP Applications Now Open: Get Up to $1,000 to Pay Your Peoples Gas Bill
Funding is first come, first served – apply today to secure assistance for the 2025-26 heating season
Peoples Natural Gas, an Essential Utilities company, urges customers to apply for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). This federally funded program provides one-time cash grants ranging from $200 – $1,000 to help eligible low-income households pay their heating bills. Grants can be applied directly to a customer’s Peoples account.
“LIHEAP is a critical resource for families who need a little extra support during the heating season,” said Rita Black, Peoples Director of Community Assistance Programs. “Many customers may not realize they qualify. We encourage everyone to apply now, before funding runs out.”
To qualify for a LIHEAP grant, total gross household income must be at or below 150 percent of the . Customers do not have to be on public assistance or have an unpaid heating bill. LIHEAP is open to both renters and homeowners, and Pennsylvania households experiencing a heating crisis may be eligible for additional benefits.
