On Saturday, February 25th, Peoples and Essential employees took the plunge for the sixth year at Special Olympics Pennsylvania’s annual Pittsburgh Polar Plunge. Nearly 80 employees, including 22 jumpers, came together as the Peoples Cold Water Crew to raise over $17,450 to help children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.
“It really means a lot to us as a company to be able to donate to this great cause and give back to the communities around us.” – said Peoples employee, team captain, and jumper Donald Zombek.
Essential employees, Christopher Luning and Charlie Stevenson drove to and from Pittsburgh that weekend to support the cause. Luning showed off his sense of style by dressing as Macho Man Randy and Stephen Perrott dressed as Scuba Steve. Our employees and other jumpers wore costumes as a reminder of the good-hearted nature of the event.
“When I found out the Polar Plunge was supporting the Special Olympics, I wanted to seize the opportunity to do my part to try to help make a difference in the lives of those families who participate.” – said Peoples employee Ryan Milko.
