Essential Named to Newsweek’s Most Responsible Companies

As a utilities company providing Earth’s most essential resources to our customers across the country, we take responsibility in ensuring we deliver safe, reliable services for the greater good of the communities we serve. In addition to the resources we provide, we are also deeply committed to making a positive impact on the Earth, improving our communities and sharing our progress opening and transparently. That’s why we’re proud to share some big news surrounding our progress towards our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals.

In December, Essential Utilities was named to Newsweek’s America’s Most Responsible Companies for 2022. This prestigious recognition is presented annually to public corporations for their commitment to the three areas of ESG—environment, social and corporate governance.

In addition to the Newsweek recognition, Essential was also named to the 2022 Carbon Clean 200, representing companies that are leading the way for the transition to a clean energy future.

We also recently received upgraded ratings from the three premier ESG rating agencies: ISS QualityScore, MSCI and Sustainalytics. All three agencies agree that Essential is making excellent strides towards our long-term ESG goals.

The inclusion on Newsweek’s list and our increased ratings indicate that we are on the right track in our commitment to being a good community partner, which is incredibly important to us and we want to share that with you, our customers.
