Emergency Hotline: 1.800.400.4271

24 hours a day / 7 days a week

What is an Emergency?

Gas leaks, an odor of gas, damaged lines, and carbon monoxide symptoms are all considered emergencies. If you have an emergency, call our emergency hotline at 1-800-400-4271 . Our personnel are ready to assist you 24/7. When in doubt, call us immediately.

If you smell gas, do not attempt to locate the leak. Instead, leave the house or building right away. Do not turn on or off any electrical switches, appliances, or lights, as an electrical charge could create a spark. When you are in a safe place, call the Peoples emergency hotline.

Help Out a Friend or Family Member with the Gift of Warmth

Think about the people who matter most in your life: maybe your elderly parents, kids in college, or other friends and relatives. Maybe you’re close with someone who is getting married, starting a family, or working on their next career move.

You might see their outward struggles — they’ve mentioned to you that their budget is tight, or that they’re worried about how a new arrival will affect expenses. And you might have wondered if you can somehow help to make things a bit easier.

Thanks to Peoples’ partnership with Speedpay, you can perform a random act of kindness for your friends and loved ones by giving the Gift of Warmth.

The Gift of Warmth is a digital gift card that can be applied to the account of any current Peoples customer.

To purchase the Gift of Warmth, simply visit our Gift of Warmth portal through Speedpay and fill out the form. You will receive an email receipt, and the gifted amount will be posted directly to the recipient’s account within a few business days.

Want to give the Gift of Warmth without any recognition? You can choose to process your payment anonymously. The recipient will not receive your name when the gift card is awarded.

If the Gift of Warmth you give is greater than the customer’s current balance, the remainder of the Gift of Warmth will stay in the customer’s account as a credit and will be used towards the customer’s next bill. This is especially beneficial when giving the Gift of Warmth in the early spring months, where gas usage and energy bills can fluctuate with the changing weather.

With the Gift of Warmth, you can give a practical, thoughtful gift — maybe to your hard-working children, to an aging family member, or to someone else who has been there for you through the years. One small act can go a long way.
