Over the years, our region has become a hub for incredible musical talent, and we’ve played host to festivals and concerts for locals and visitors alike. As a company, we’re proud to sponsor a few of these events in our region and hope you’ll take some time this summer to kick back, relax, and listen to some great music!
Summer Sounds
Location: St. Clair Park, Greensburg, PA
Date: Every Friday from June 2 to September 1 at 7 p.m.
Cost: Free
You really can’t beat music in the park, especially when that includes groups like Tusk, Mike Zito, and Black Masal to name a few. Greensburg’s Summer Sounds concert series is all about community, which is why it’s free and open to the public! Show up at 6:15 p.m. to enjoy a little pre-show music before the concert starts. And, if you’re not convinced already, parking at the venue is free, too.
The AmeriServ Flood City Music Festival
Location: Peoples Natural Gas Park, Johnstown, PA
Date: August 4-5
Cost: Early bird prices of two-day passes $35 and $55 (VIP)
The AmeriServ Flood City Music Festival was started in 1989 in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Great Johnstown Flood. With help from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Johnstown Area Heritage Association (JAHA) is able to hold the annual festival in Peoples Natural Gas Park. Come out for two days of live folk music and a little bit of history at this summer music festival.
Rockin’ on the Mon
Location: Monongahela Aquatorium, Monongahela, PA
Date: Saturday nights June through August at 7:30 p.m.
Cost: Tickets sold for $10 at the gate or online.
This year’s Rockin’ on the Mon lineup is filled with iconic shows including tributes to Journey, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, the Beatles, and more. Besides its regular Saturday night concerts, the venue is also hosting an Itlaian Festa June 23-24. The festival is free and open to the public with food, music, and family fun, as well as a concert both Friday and Saturday night. And you don’t even have to get in the car if you don’t want to—boaters are also welcome to dock and enjoy the show.
Listen Locally Downstairs
Location: The Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall, Carnegie, PA
Date: Third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Cost: $10
If you enjoy concerts with a happy hour feel, then the Listen Locally Downstairs concert series is definitely for you! Feel free to invite all your friends along to this low-key event for drinks, chitchat, and live music. This concert series has it all, from smooth jazz to indie folk. We’re proud to partner up with the Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall to support local musicians and provide a hip summer hang-out spot! See which musicians are up next.
Thrival Music + Innovation Festival
Location: Carrie Furnaces, Swissvale, PA
Date: September 27-30
Cost: TBA
Thrival Music and Innovation Festival is a two-part event—one part business convention, one part live music festival. The Pittsburgh entrepreneurial nonprofit Ascender started the festival back in 2013, and it’s been going strong ever since. Thrival Innovation will take place September 27-28 in Pittsburgh’s East End neighborhoods and Thrival Music will be September 29-30 at Carrie Furnaces. All proceeds from the event go to support Ascender’s mission to help to entrepreneurs as well as the city of Pittsburgh. With 14,000 attendees at last year’s festival, and headliners such as the Chainsmokers, this year promises to be bigger and better than ever! As one of Thrival’s sponsors, we hope to see you there!
