Emergency Hotline: 1.800.400.4271

24 hours a day / 7 days a week

What is an Emergency?

Gas leaks, an odor of gas, damaged lines, and carbon monoxide symptoms are all considered emergencies. If you have an emergency, call our emergency hotline at 1-800-400-4271 . Our personnel are ready to assist you 24/7. When in doubt, call us immediately.

If you smell gas, do not attempt to locate the leak. Instead, leave the house or building right away. Do not turn on or off any electrical switches, appliances, or lights, as an electrical charge could create a spark. When you are in a safe place, call the Peoples emergency hotline.

Root, Root, Root for the Home Team!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year (baseball season), and we want to show our support for the home team—the Pittsburgh Pirates.

  • PNC Park
  • Freddy the Flame by the Roberto Clemente statue
  • Statue of Bill Mazeroski

We all know that baseball is America’s pastime, and in our region, it’s no different. Every spring, yinzers of all ages fill the stands of PNC Park to watch their Buccos take the field. With the low rumble of the crowd, the mouthwatering smell of hot dogs and burgers and all things grilled, and the breathtaking view of the skyline, it’s easy to say that baseball in Pittsburgh is an experience like no other.

Pittsburghers have a strong sense of loyalty and pride when it comes to sports. But perhaps even more so than football and hockey, this city has a long legacy and a rich history in the world of baseball. Since 1882, the city has been home to the Pittsburgh Pirates, although that wasn’t the team’s official name until 1891. First known as “Allegheny,” the Pirates have brought home five World Series titles and nine National League pennants. And while it’s been a while since the city has seen a World Series title, with every brisk crack of the bat, every pop and fizzle of fireworks, we get a surge of hope that this is our year.

The Pittsburgh baseball scene got new life in 2001 with the opening of PNC Park. The stadium is commonly known as one of the best parks in all of baseball. Besides the incredible view of downtown Pittsburgh, the park boasts over 2.2 million regular season attendees, even though it is actually one of the smaller ball parks in the U.S. According to the official site of Major League Baseball, the Pittsburgh Pirates have the fifth highest TV ratings in the league.

To this region, baseball is more than just a game. It’s a uniting force in the community that brings us all together. A baseball team like the Pirates boosts the local economy and supports local businesses. That’s why we at Peoples feel it’s important for us to support the growth and sense of community that a baseball team brings to the region—we live and work here, too, and we want this area to thrive.

This season, to further support our North Shore neighbor, you’ll see the Peoples Gate outside of PNC Park at the corner of W General Robinson Street and Mazeroski Way. We look forward to seeing all of the Pirates fans streaming through that gate this year, showing off their hometown pride.

And for all Peoples customers, we want to say thank you! If you’re a Peoples customer, we’re offering you a special ticket discount for the game on Saturday, May 27th at 7:15pm when the Pirates take on the New York Mets. Kick off your Memorial Day weekend with a night of baseball and a chance to see the gorgeous sunset over the city of Pittsburgh.

With any luck, we’ll be raising the Jolly Roger under the lights.
