Emergency Hotline: 1.800.400.4271

24 hours a day / 7 days a week

What is an Emergency?

Gas leaks, an odor of gas, damaged lines, and carbon monoxide symptoms are all considered emergencies. If you have an emergency, call our emergency hotline at 1-800-400-4271 . Our personnel are ready to assist you 24/7. When in doubt, call us immediately.

If you smell gas, do not attempt to locate the leak. Instead, leave the house or building right away. Do not turn on or off any electrical switches, appliances, or lights, as an electrical charge could create a spark. When you are in a safe place, call the Peoples emergency hotline.

Dollar Energy Is Here For You

  • As temperatures begin to drop, now is the time to see if you qualify for assistance paying your bills.

Whether you’re supporting your family, currently without a job, or simply on a fixed income, we understand that sometimes it can be difficult to pay your gas bill—especially during the winter. We are here to help you in any way we can. Peoples has several programs available to assist our customers who might have trouble paying their winter heating bills. We call these our Safe Comfort Programs. You can get more information about these programs by clicking here and choosing your state, or by calling 1-800-400-WARM.

We also support several organizations in our communities that can help you get the savings that you’re entitled to, like LIHEAP, the United Way’s 2-1-1 service, and one of our closest partners, the Dollar Energy Fund.

Dollar Energy Fund is an organization committed to improving the quality of life for households experiencing hardships, by providing utility assistance and other services. Over the past 33 years, Dollar Energy Fund has provided $131 million in utility assistance grants to more than 470,000 families and individuals.

The Dollar Energy Fund application just opened for the season on October 1st, 2016. To review the application process or to apply, please visit their website.

You can also help us in our efforts to help others by checking the box on your next gas bill to donate just one dollar per month to Dollar Energy—and we will match that contribution, dollar for dollar. With just a small contribution, you can make a huge difference in the lives of some of your neighbors.
