June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month, and Pittsburgh is celebrating in a big way! There is a Pride event happening each weekend in June thoughout the area.
The Peoples Diversity & Inclusion Council compiled a list of events happening this month to celebrate and show appreciation for the LGBTQ+ community:
Pittsburgh Pride kicked off the festivities June 4 - 6, and was the first Pride event in the city thrown in collaboration between multiple LGBTQ+ organizations across Pittsburgh and the Western PA region, helping to ensure that Pride is an inclusive and safe space for all members of the LGBTQ+ community and their supporters.
Other Pride events are taking place across the city throughout the month of June:
Drive N'Drag - June 15 and 16
SAGE Pride at the Zoo (LGBT Seniors) - June 18
People's Pride - June 18 through 20
People’s Pride PGH, which is now Pittsburgh’s leading community-centered Pride event, was founded and is directed by Trans people of color and allies to demand equal rights and visibility for our TLGBQIA+ communities in Pittsburgh and around the country.
