What is an Emergency?

Gas leaks, an odor of gas, damaged lines, and carbon monoxide symptoms are all considered emergencies. If you have an emergency, call our emergency hotline at 1-800-400-4271. Our personnel are ready to assist you 24/7. When in doubt, call us immediately.

If you smell gas, do not attempt to locate the leak. Instead, leave the house or building right away. Do not turn on or off any electrical switches, appliances, or lights, as an electrical charge could create a spark. When you are in a safe place, call the Peoples emergency hotline.

“Our hope is that the Cool Down for Warmth draws attention to the thousands of families in our region who are at risk of losing their heat-related utility services during these cold months,” said Chad Quinn, chief executive officer of Dollar Energy Fund. “No one should have to face a Pittsburgh winter without utility service, so we are focusing our efforts through this event to raise funds and awareness to help ensure that more families can afford to heat their homes when the outside temperatures drop.”

Dollar Energy Fund and KDKA are ready for the 2018 Warmathon, a two-day radio/telethon event on NewsRadio 1020 KDKA. The Warmathon has raised approximately $2.99 million and helped more than 8,695 families over the past 9 years. The Warmathon will ask listeners to make contributions by calling into the studio-based call center, donating online, or texting a keyword to give. The two-day event will feature many incentives, including the annual dinner with Bishop David Zubik. Donations in support of the Warmathon will make sure families and seniors in our area don’t have to face the winter without utility service. Peoples has been a proud supporter of this fundraiser for many years, with dozens of our employees volunteering at the Warmathon.
