The Peoples Eat, Drink, Help Program

Did you ever think your cup of coffee would be worth $1,000? How about a $1,000 slice of pizza? Through the Peoples Eat, Drink, Help Program, we are making your everyday purchases go a long way.

  • We've partnered with many outstanding local businesses through the years!
  • Bakeries have been a popular choice for our Eat, Drink, Help program...everyone is happy to buy a pastry to support a local charity!
  • The Eat, Drink, Help program kicked off with several local businesses and charities in the Pittsburgh region.
  • When you buy a qualifying purchase, you'll see an Eat, Drink, Help label like this.
  • We've worked with businesses and charities across our service territory, from Pennsylvania to Kentucky.
  • From pastries to potted plants, local businesses have chosen many different types of goods for the Eat, Drink, Help program.

Through this program, we partner up with a local business, and then that business chooses a local charity to receive a donation from Peoples. So whether it’s a burger or a bag of peanut brittle, when you make a purchase at one of these local businesses, Peoples makes a donation to a great charity.

This campaign started back in the spring of 2016, when we teamed up with Pennie's Bake Shop & Espresso Bar in Butler, PA. For every coffee purchased at Pennie's, we donated 50 cents to the VOICe (Victim Outreach Intervention Center) of Butler County. The VOICe provides confidential services at no cost to individuals and families who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crimes. That spring, we presented a $1,000 check to the VOICe of Butler County.

We were thrilled to see the people of Butler embrace this program, and we immediately began to expand it to more businesses in Butler and in other areas, including Beaver County and Pittsburgh’s North Side. Through 2018, we've extended the program throughout our service territory, including in Kentucky! Over the years, dozens of businesses have been able to pay it forward to more local charities of their choosing. This type of personal, “local to local” partnership gives us a chance to get to know the businesses that make your neighborhoods so special. With support of our communities, we can channel our support directly to the causes that mean the most to the people in those neighborhoods.

By directly pairing up local businesses with local charities, our Eat, Drink, Help Program supports neighborhood small businesses, empowers charities, and helps to build stronger communities. And with your help, we can continue to help make lives better in our region.
